Do you have problems accessing shares other than QDLS?

Using QDLS anymore is something to be avoided. Sure there's the usual complaints about the cruddy 8.3 file naming restriction and all that. But the bigger issues start coming in to play with different levels of SMB support from different versions of Windows. And a whole host of similar issues.

If you're using CPYTOPCD or CPYFRMPCD you may have to migrate to something in the family CPYTOSTMF, CPYTOIMPF, CPYFRMSTMF, CPYFRMIMPF.

All your users have a share called QDLS and you don't want to disrupt them? No big deal, stop sharing QDLS and make a share called QDLS over a different directory.

But for the love of all that is holy do not share the root ('/') directory. That is an acceptable form of tendering your resignation here. Instead share a subdirectory below that (and not QDLS).
