Rob,

In iNavigator (1.1.8.2) under File Systems there are 2 entries you care about:
Files Shares
Create File Shares
These are new functionality, and very easy to operate.
Create pops up a very unconfusing window where you specify Share Name, Description, Access, Path Name (with Browse function) and Maximum number of users.

After you complete this and create your share on your computer you just map to your server and select the share you created.

Or

Use net use z: \\hqd400\jde /user:UserID PWD

If you wanted to map your Z drive to server HQD400 IFS folder JDE.

HTH,
Danny

Danny,
Both IBM i servers, and Windows servers, allow you to create "shares". On either system you can have a directory which may look like this:
//Directory1/SubdirI/subdirA/subdir1/subdira
And then you could create a share called BubbasData and have that share point to that end directory.
Then from a client machine you could go to //myserver/BubbasData And you would see the contents of that directory.

I'm trying to figure out how to create that share in iACS.

I want to create a share over a directory using IBM i Access Client Solutions. How do I do so? I can right click on it and change permissions, etc
