I am puzzled because the documentation at this page

says the only ports that need to be opened for the LAN console (we are not using a HMC) are





LAN Console

- Main ports you are concerned with are 3002, 3001 and 2323

- Some other ports that are needed at times are:

- 2300 (D-mode IPL's only)

- 67 and 68 (BootP, though firewalls can have individual settings to block BootP even if you have these opened)

- 449- Sort of applies to SLIC though you are able to run if this one is closed.



2301 appears to be required only if you have this setup



HMC

- 2300= Non-SSL

- 2301= SSL



Since it take 10 days for a firewall request to be actioned if I ask for 2301, then I am going to have to wait ☹
