Thanks Rob.  Prying loose those infrequently used commands from the recesses of my brain takes work.  I think this was what I was looking for:

    CMB06           576F  Operational           Comm Processor
      LIN04         576F  Operational           LAN Adapter
        CMN03       576F  Operational           Ethernet Port
        CMN04       576F  Operational           Ethernet Port
        CMN05       576F  Operational           Ethernet Port
        CMN06       576F  Operational           Ethernet Port

I am guessing those Ethernet Ports are the 4 ports on the card. So, just need to assign CMN04 to the ETHLINE and should be good to go.  Thanks

Your setup may be different from mine as we virtualize Ethernet from VIOS, however I use the CMN04.

Subject: Network (Ethernet) resources on Power 9 9009-41A

Getting this bright shiny new Power 9 up on it's legs (aside: Installing from USB is AWESOME!)  Trying to remember how to identify which resource name to use for the Ethernet adapter. This guy has a card with 4 Ethernet ports on it and I am trying to figure out which external port maps to the internal resource names.  Using LAN Console, not HMC.

I think I go into SST and use the HSM to identify the logical resources.  There is a virtual IOP (CMB04).  That has a Workstation IOA
(CTL01) which has a display station attached (DSP001) which I assume is the Console.  There is also a Virtual Comm IOA on that virtual IOP which has a resource name of LIN03.

So, do I use LIN03 as the resource for the Ethernet Line I want to create or do I need to "create" a resource for the Ethernet line somehow?  I think the 4 external Ethernet ports might be derailing my thinking....

Just trying to create an Ethernet line to connect this P9 to the network (beyond the LAN console)....
