I'm a big fan of keeping stuff on the IBM i when I can, but to throw another option out there Mirth Connect from NextGen Healthcare has become my goto solution for automated transfers. It runs on windows, linux, and mac. I run it on a linux server that has a share mapped of the IBM i. It periodically checks various folders and then sends them off. It does password and public key. And for shops that have to have support, they will sell you support. We have used it for years for HL7 exchanges, but now about 25% of my channels are sftp or ftp of files in and out of the system.

+1 (well, way more than 1) for GoAnywhere. I'm a BIG fan of the product.

For native... Check the archives. There have been a lot of recent discussions about sFTP recently.

We use Goanywhere MFT (Managed File Transfer) by HelpSystems

www.goanywhere.com/managed-file-transfer

We were able to interface it with an inhouse FTP system years ago and find it easy to work with.

Their web GUI is nice and allows for a lot of different scenarios like user/password or SSL Certificate connectivity.
And it's very easy to setup the connections.

And best of all, at least for the people in our shop, you don't have to write any Shell Scripts.

And it can be triggered from CL using a command or RPG using a service program.

Although it might be cost prohibitive for a small shop, I still felt it worth mentioning incase others fall into this list searching for SFTP solutions that run on the iSeries.

We have to send our electronic check data to the bank using SSH FTP (SFTP) Port - 22.

I want to do this in a CL, where do I find the steps to accomplish this. Please, I have never done this before and come from a one person shop.

Thanks
