Right, you must check the fix package levels, then run the update.

Much easier now since you can do it all from Navigator, it does not require
any real shell skills any longer.

I still run it from the command line since I remember it and since I'm
connected with VPN most of the time, I don't have to rely on the browser.

Jim,
I'm sure you know, but others often forget. Just because you are at the
latest group PTF level for WAS does not mean you are at that level of WAS.
You have to run the upgrade on each WAS server configured. I've been told
the GUI is the way to go.

Never Mind, I finally found it in the Memo to Users. A previous search of
that must have been mistyped.



Page 29: 8.5.5.15 is the minimum.



That's good since WAS seems to be the big sticking point among my customers
with OS upgrades. We've got most of them at or near that level now.

I've tried to find the answer but was looking during IBMs web fiasco last
week so I may have missed it.



What is the minimum WAS level for V7R4. Is it still 8.5?



As usual the IBM web site runs in circles and does not have a "minimum
software requirement" page that's findable.
