Just about all of IBM's accounting has been off-shore for a long time
Brad. Guadalajara used to be just hardware but that was years ago. Put it
this way, if it was scammers they have worked real hard if they have
identified Guadalajara as an IBM location!
A lot of accounting stuff (mostly internal expenses and stuff) is also
done in the Philippines I think.
In the past I have had IBM "make up" new account numbers for something
when they were apparently incapable of looking up the old one. This may be
a similar situation - if they've lost your email they may well have lost
the account itself! They've never been any good at bookkeeping.

IBM Technology Campus Guadalajara phone number +52 33 3669 7000.
Now, I am expecting an invoice for hardware maintenance (from a couple
months back of course). I just don't know why they'd call from there.
They were looking for an email address for my company (which should be in
my details at IBM and they could easily find it on my website) . They
an 877 call back phone number and a weird @ibm.com email address.hit
They mentioned an account number, that they claimed was mine, but I've
never heard before.
Are they pushing papers this far these days? Or is this one of the
hundreds of scam calls that a person gets a week, and they happened to
on something familiar?ability
