Well the doco says: "Most external modems should work" so you could for example get something like this guy: https://www.ebay.com/itm/US-ROBOTICS-Total-Control-Managed-MP-8-V-34-/123705135945
Which is a 1U box with 8 modems. It has the same RJ45 as the Perle unit below so simple ribon cables between them should suffice. Whole solutions in 2U for 8 lines.

Remember though all this stuff is OLD and the suggestions by others to turn them faxes into emails or send to a service to do the faxing are likely better ideas.

I did see those and looks like a workable option. There is also a quad port Async card available on POWER9 with a fan out cable. So either way customer would need external modems.

In fact there are three boxes for supported IBM i release levels. The
Fax is sent via Ethernet to the device. FAX/400 supports it.

Anyone know of any external Fax Server solution which is code compatible with FAX/400? I have a customer on an older P7 with 16 internal fax modem ports using the quad port adapters. Well these adapters are not supported on P8 or P9 and the only internal async card only has 1 port, so they would either need 16 adapters or shelves of external modems. Customer does not want to make any application changes to integrate a new solution.

Thanks
