There is a more fundamental point to be made: The whole concept of a
"pass through query" is, as far as I'm aware, strictly a Microsoft
database thing. The term doesn't even exist when we're talking about
any other database.

If neither the client nor the server is a Microsoft product, then you
can be extremely confident that the ONLY kind of query is what
Microsoft would call a "pass through query". The rest of us just call
it a "query".
