Meanwhile I managed to get a terminal and "brick" and cables so I was
able to access the machine. It's working fine without problems and
there is an V4R5 OS installed, which is not the latest, but so far I am
fine with it. So, the next months I can go further to explore the
machine ...

Thank you for your kind support, especially to Mark Waterbury, Yvan and
Alexandre. Great international work :)

Best regards,
Michael

You are correct that V5R4 is the last release to run on a 270.

Since it is no longer supported, how does one go about getting
keys? I'm asking because I have an old 270 collecting dust due to
a lack of keys. I got tired of reinstalling everything every 70ish
days and powered it off.

So would I. I think i5/OS V5R4 was the last OS version supported
on a 9406-270. :-)
