Note that in order for this to work, the PDFs must have been created with
embedded text and not graphically!

I recall testing more than one spool file to PDF converter that created
graphical PDFs instead of ones with embedded text.

Easy way to tell, when you open the PDF, can you successfully search for
text.

You may want to look for a Java solution as RPG would be pretty difficult,
especially if the PDF is encrypted or compressed.

iText and PDFBox are 2 packages I know of that may have a text compare
option.

I have an ongoing need to compare two PDF stream files and detect if
there
are "text" differences between the two.

Both PDFs were/will be created via a conversion from their respective
spoolfiles, with the data in the spoolfiles being different between the
two
conversions.

The spoolfiles are no longer available to compare.

I am looking for a command, service program, or process that is available
to be embedded in our production programs(CL,RPGLE).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

We are at V7R3.
