IBMi makes the call. Here's the command that's defined in the Message Monitor:
CALL PGM(MSGMONITOR) PARM(&MSGID &FRMUSER &FRMJOBNUMBER &FRMJOBNAME &DATE &TIME)


Here's my parameter list:
Dcl-pi MsgMonitor ;
msgID char(7) ;
fromUser char(10) ;
jobNumber char(6) ;
jobName char(10) ;
date char(8) ;
time char(6) ;
End-pi ;


I wonder if &FRMJOBNUMBER actually is numeric, and the command line packed(15:5) rule applies.

How are you running this? Got any source example?

It could still be expecting a Character and you passed packed data, which may explain the strange hex.

What if it was supposed to be a null terminated - 6 character string?
