You can roll your own way to set the env var with the API putenv().

use CHGENVVAR ENVVAR(CLASSPATH) VALUE(&CLASSPATH) but the CHGENVVAR

Is there a way to store the classpath definition in an ifs file, and
then load that into the classpath?
