Rob,

Did you want session life table or a statement life table?

Session life would be declare global temporary table [table] etc. ( I think you know this one well).
Statement life would be select ... from ... table( values(1,2,3,4,5,6),(7,8,9,10,11,12) ) as x ( f1, f2, f3, f4, f5, f6)
