There are several options for copying a file to the IFS in CSV (Comma Separated Variable) format.

If you want a truly flat file, one option would be to print the file in the format you want, and use OVRPRTF to direct the file to the IFS.  This even works with print overlays.

OVRPRTF FILE(yourprintfile) TOFILE(QSYSPRTAFP) DEVTYPE(*AFPDS) TOSTMF('/your/path/here.pdf') WSCST(*PDF)   [other parms at your option]

problem is, the file is not really flat :)
it has columns, but want it copied as a flat file...
