The only real way is to use Navigator for IBM i web interface into the
control group. In there you can set omit flags for individual object,
object types, or wildcard object names for QSYS objects. I always have
two control groups, one with ignored objects, and one without. I am not
aware of a way to use the omits parameter on QSYS object types.

Subject: BRMS: How to omit objects from daily backup?

When I run STRBKUBRM I can use the default of OMITS(*PROCESS) or change it
to OMITS(*IGNORE). When running a restricted state backup I use
OMITS(*IGNORE). Does this parameter only affect IFS stuff set with the
QLNKOMT list?
How do you omit library objects from your control group when run daily but
be able to use the OMITS(*IGNORE) and get them to save during a dedicated
save?
