the basic principle is to use a RCVJRNE command with an exit program
any new entry will trigger your exit program
in the exit program you can use the journal entry as one of the
parameter... you have to test the value for entry type, etc... and you
can process the data.. in near real time...

if you want real time a trigger could be more appropriate

Subject: Handling Record Change Journal Entries
Sent by: "MIDRANGE-L" <midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

Does anyone here have a best practice for being able to receive and
process record change journal entries ?

Looking to use journal entries in an automation process to process changed
records in real-time.

Any insight appreciated.

Thanks.
