Jack,

What % do you see? I typically see 3% temp addresses, not unusual. Startup processes often use temp storage at IPL. Really depends on the various things that you startup and have running after the IPL. Are you current on PTF's? I've seen storage leaks cause excessive temp storage use. This sql will give you an idea of what is using temp storage.

SELECT bucket_current_size, bucket_peak_size, RTRIM(job_number) concat '/'
concat
RTRIM(job_user_name) concat '/' concat RTRIM(job_name) AS q_job_name
FROM QSYS2.SYSTMPSTG s
ORDER BY bucket_current_size DESC

Subject: Temporary Addresses

Been puzzling over temporary address growth.
Have read:

- http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas8N1019798
- https://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas8N1012020

One thing I don't get .. it seems that temporary addresses can persist (barring settings in SST/DST) over IPLs. Why would a temporary address survive an IPL?
To recover data left in address space after a crash or something?
