V7R1 is SAN bootable on Power 914

Hi,

I’ve just managed to get a V7R1 LPAR running on Power 914( Unsupported OS level for Power 914). Basically I did a Full system Flash copy from the same LPAR on a Power 8 box and booted the V7R1 LPAR on the Power 914 connected to the same Storwize and it works fine. So far, no problems reported or anything wrong.

Has anyone else noticed the same thing? Never seen a mention from IBM that this works.

Do we have someone from IBM on the list who can comment?
