Hardware enhancements are available for the IBM® POWER8® and POWER9™
scale-out and scale-up family servers, including:
IBM POWER8 scale-up family servers also support the following new 10-core
processors:
4.02 GHz 40-core POWER8 processor (#EPB0)
CBU for Power® Enterprise Systems 4.02 GHz 40-core POWER8 processor
(#EPBZ)
40-core 4.02 GHz POWER8 processor module for SAP HANA (#ESPZ)
Multiple feature conversions provide flexible configurations.
POWER9 scale-out and scale-up family servers also support the following
existing I/O:
PCIe3 12 GB Cache RAID SAS Adapter Quad-port 6 Gb x 8 (#EJ0L) supported
for migration, but not as a new order
POWER9 scale-out family servers also support the following existing I/O:
PCIe2 8 Gb 4-port Fibre Channel Adapter (#EN12)
POWER9 S914 Tower-to-Rack conversion and Rack-to-Tower conversion
