Like Love, Yum is blind.

It's often seen on Unix systems that different vintages of tools sets
co-exist.

The mechanism of co-existence is, as in love ... separate rooms.

Keep the conflicting toolsets separate by means the PATH variable in your
.profile or .bashrc or shell script execute preparatory to some specialized
operation.
