Wouldn't the number of digits = number of bits (for a binary number) (Ignoring a sign bit)?

OK, I found my problem. I didn't understand what BIN 15 meant in
terms of number of bytes of storage for the dialog variable. I thought 15
was the number of digits, but I guess it is the number of bits. So, I
should have had a 2-byte binary number and I had tried a 4 byte and an 8
byte. Silly me.
