It depends in part on what you mean by "a system table."  Do you mean a 3rd party product added an SQL index or view (or even a traditional DDS-based LF) over an IBM-supplied table that is part of, or shipped with, the OS? 

Or do you mean someone added an index or LF over a table or PF that is part of some other application?
Also, I do not see how adding an SQL view can cause any issues, as those do not do anything until they are actually used, and they are basically no different than running an SQL query over a table dynamically? 

So, what's the real issue here? Can you explain what kind of problem(s) this incident (support case) caused?

I was just reviewing an old support case where the cause of the problem was that a 3rd party product added a index or view over a system table.

That seems like a very bad idea to me.

How many 3rd party products do this?  I'm just curious.
