The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

I didn't know about the HTTP SQL functions. I'm going to start looking at

HTTPAPI is way more simple than socket programming... you do not need to
use IFS... (see ea. example13 )
you couls also just use SQL HTTPGETCLOB which is also very simple.

I have a request to check an internal website, which, in a browser,
returns a very simple few character of text. From that I can determine if
the PC server is operating the way we want it to. If not, I'll be feeding
some kind of notice into our messaging software. What kind of technology
should I be looking at to get a bit of data from a website? I'm currently
looking at HTTPAPI, although I don't need the results to go to an IFS
file. I've done a little with socket programming to a 3rd party software
engine, but I haven't done it to a webpage before.
