If you go to www.think400.dk/downloads.htm you will find a utility that
moves objects between multiple system called "FTP betwwen Systems".

It compresses an object in a save file, uses Scott Klements FTPAPI and
sends to remote system where it restores it automatically. Free open source
software.

Data volume varies though we are not in the GB area.

Compressing the data before sending would also be nice in this setup to
