Evening.

I'm a non-sys admin person with very limited OS400 command knowledge. I'm
trying to help a small firm whose system administrator recently passed away
suddenly.

The first challenge is to locate several files that have been processed in
the past couple of weeks - some by scheduled jobs, others by interactive
processes.

I started running the DSPFD command on each file in a specific library but
now I've been told I can use the DSPFD command to produce an output file
containing a record for each file in a selected library. Among the
datapoints that I need are the Last Change Date and Time.

The person who suggested the *ALL DSPFD command did not know the specific
syntax so I setout to find in myself. Too many options for that approach to
be effective.

The following syntax doesn't work - Type *ALL and *OUTFILE are incompatible:

File . . . . . . . . . . . . . . > *ALL Name, generic*, *ALL

Library . . . . . . . . . . . > CMFLIBW Name, *LIBL, *CURLIB...

Type of information . . . . . . *ALL *ALL, *BASATR, *ATR...

+ for more values

Output . . . . . . . . . . . . . > *OUTFILE *, *PRINT, *OUTFILE

File attributes . . . . . . . . *ALL *ALL, *DSPF, *PRTF,
*DKTF..

+ for more values

File to receive output . . . . . rldspfd Name

Library . . . . . . . . . . . cmflibw Name, *LIBL, *CURLIB

Output member options:

Member to receive output . . . *FIRST Name, *FIRST

Replace or add records . . . . *REPLACE *REPLACE, *ADD

The following syntax produces an outfile but the file does not contain the
Last Change Date and Time:

File . . . . . . . . . . . . . . > *ALL Name, generic*, *ALL

Library . . . . . . . . . . . > CMFLIBW Name, *LIBL, *CURLIB...

Type of information . . . . . . *BASATR *ALL, *BASATR, *ATR...

+ for more values

Output . . . . . . . . . . . . . > *OUTFILE *, *PRINT, *OUTFILE

File attributes . . . . . . . . *ALL *ALL, *DSPF, *PRTF,
*DKTF...

+ for more values

File to receive output . . . . . rldspfd Name

Library . . . . . . . . . . . cmflibwBAS Name, *LIBL, *CURLIB

Output member options:

Member to receive output . . . *FIRST Name, *FIRST

Replace or add records . . . . *REPLACE *REPLACE, *ADD

I've tried other values but get error message indicating a format file can't
be found.

Any ideas? I think the box (a model 170) is running V5R4.
