Rob, I haven't did much research on this, but are the file extensions and
folder locations the same between versions. Let's assume that they are,
couldn't you save them off, then restore them back. Even if the folder
locations are different, if the extensions are supported maybe they are
inter-changeable.

Suppose you have several VDI clients on a server. You want to upgrade the
OS on each instance to Windows 10.
A majority of the instances have their own custom 5250 sessions.
Now you want to convert
.ws - emulator profile
.bch - emulator batch file
.kmp - keyboard customization file
.dtf - data transfer from IBM i
.dtt - data transfer to IBM i
to
.hod - emulator profile
.bchx - emulator batch file
.kmp - keyboard customization file
.dtfx - data transfer from IBM i
.dttx - data transfer to IBM i

You do not want each user to have to individually convert them manually.
You do not just want to associate the old with the new if this means
they're going to be bombarded with pop ups suggesting they migrate them,
or take longer to start because it has to start the main IBM i Access
Client Solutions page.

Is there some suggested conversion method?

I've done a little google searching for migration and most hits suggest
using some tool on a case by case basis.

Question asked but quickly devolved into meaningless discussion on why
rush to Win10.
