We were installing an update on the iSeries and didn't want to camp out in the computer room. So we aimed a camera at the console monitor and watched from afar.
To prevent the console from going to sleep we used an Automatic Mouse Wiggler. We had an optical mouse, and a piece of paper. The mouse was turned sensors up, and the paper was taped to a nearby rack and draped across the mouse. Air blowing up along the rack made the paper flutter, keeping the session alive.
