The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

I tried this years ago, but I no longer have the docs I used. I found this on Google:
https://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic1573781-2799-1.aspx
We gave up on this due to horrible performance (sub-second native queries took minutes over the linked server) and it required Db2 syntax (which the SQL Server people rejected).

Subject: Configuring SSMS for DB2
I'm trying to see how well SSMS would work for front-ending some queries for large XLS extracts.
Does anyone have a working example of a Microsoft SSMS linked server connecting to IBM i that they can share?
The closest driver I can see in the SSMS drop-down would be Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers. Will that work?
Thanks.
