You didn't mention any of your hardware, DASD, etc.
Also, is there any contention from other activity on the system.
1 hour seems long for 900 objects.

We delete and restore our R&D environments often.
We delete each library.
20 libraries
45,000 pgm objects
16,000 PF and LF.

On SSD - 30 minutes.
On 10kspinny - 1 hour.
