And what ARE you trying to accomplish?

It actually wasn't clear to me whether you wanted a CSV string for
each row, or for the whole result set. Or are your queries going to be
formulated such that at most one row is ever selected?

And in any case, why a string? (As opposed to depositing directly into
a stream file, say.)

The short answer to that is: Correct, there isn't any IBM-supplied
function for this.

I daresay there probably aren't even many, if any, third-party
functions to do (exactly) what you're asking. CSV is not a common
format to want, unless you are ultimately writing a stream file.
