Yeah exist point is the option I was thinking to avoid but if that is the
only option we will have to use it.

I sent a note about using a routing program a moment ago. Now you're
adding
the need to use it for JDBC/ODBC. (That information would have been nice
to
have up front)

Now the best option for a systemic fix is to use the same technique I
explained in my earlier post, but rather use an exit program on the
supplied
exit points for starting the connection. In that exit program use the
CHGSYSLIBL command as discussed earlier and the job should have the correct
library list.

That program could even choose which users or connections to make the
change
in the job so some users would get the change and others would not.

CHGSYSLIBL .. Yeah it looks like we could have used it too for current
thread. But my issue .right now is to for JDBC/ODBC jobs.

I thought CHGSYSLIBL will change it for the entire system? We only
needed to add/remove for a job.

Change System Library List - Help

The Change System Library List (CHGSYSLIBL) command changes the
system portion of the library list for the current thread. You can
specify if the library is added to the beginning of the system
portion of the library list, or removed from the system portion of
the library list.

Issue is SYSLIBL was setup by native people ages ago and they added
some libraries in it which were not supposed to be in it. Now we
cannot
change
it but there is a need to remove them; for setting up a new
environment (without creating a new partition)

We took care of it for green screen sessions by using TAATOOL
command to remove libraries from SYSLIBL.

For JDBC/ODBC connections we are thinking to write some database
exit programs to do the same but was wondering if there is a
better/easy way
at
SBS level, meaning whenever a user makes a connection they will be
assigned
a different SBS and in that subsystem we can have a different SYSLIBL.

SYSLIBL is system wide.
USRLIBL is what you'll have to use. Or set up a job description
for
jobs
in that subsystem.

Now, if you want to spin up a new partition of IBM i and have the
whole
subsystem run in that, that is a different story.

Can we have a different SYSLIBL for a SBS? We are creating a new
SBS
and
wondering if we can specify a different SYSLIBL for its jobs.
