That's as far as I've gotten but it at least does prove routing and IP is connecting.

You might also try SSH from QSH if the system on the far end has SSH running.

Also it is required to smack all network admins who shut down ICMP and then wonder why server admins are cranky.

Correction, I can 'kind of' get it to work ... but it just flashes the screen & disconnects.

Arguably, this is a reasonable way to test that I can connect to the remote system (if not the best).
