Don,
After the 3 yr warranty expires, I've seen monthly maintenance on a single SSD varying from $11.00/mo to $84.00/mo, depending on the feature, for standard 8 to 5 coverage.
24x7 uplift would also have to be factored in.

You have not said what model this new P9 system is but if it is a small one
there is a limit of 10 internal drives and this configuration fills all
slots so nothing left for growth in the future.
Also now having read the other comments my suggestion would be a single
RAID 5 array with one hot spare or RAID 6 with two hot spares.
IBMi likes as many disk arms as it can get for performance and while the
rule of 6 has been stated it also depends on the how busy the box is with
IO and if not heavy on IO this could be dropped to four or five in my
opinion.
A number of respondee's have indicated at the HIGH maintenance cost once
the initial HWMA runs out - Does anyone have any indicative figures as to
how HIGH this maintenance is ?
Cheers

We received a quote from our business partner for a new system that
includes
the following:
(10) 283 GB 15K Spinning Disk Drives in two 4 x 4 RAID Arrays w/Hot Spares
* 1.132 TB Useable
I know what we asked for, but my question to you folks is "how would you
interpret this RAID configuration?"
We asked the BP, but the answer was not informative.
