I started the PING after I submitted the reboot and was waiting for a response that will NEVER come. So I went to check the KVM cables on the back of the HMC and saw it went to the rack next door, not the KVM I had opened and was still labeled HMC. So I opened the other KVM and selected the HMC and had the log on screen. Boy was that an ID ten T error. Guess I even hard booted it twice. Oh I am running the CR6 as well with both a power 7 and power 8 attached. The P7 will work all the way up to V8R910 according to the matrix but now to verify where the 7042-CR6 can go.

I'm on 8.8.4.0 SP0.
Was planning to do the HMC upgrade to 8.8.6, which is the latest I can get to with a P7 and 7042 CR6.

I just applied service pack 3 to my HMC at 8.8.4.0 SP 2 . Now it will not boot. Ran through and everything was fine until it called for a reboot.

Dead. No keyboard, mouse or monitor. Time to call IBM.

The panel does not even show any errors. Thank god I have a backup from Sunday.
