Yep they did that.

There are ways to disable all updates period. Turn of the services that do that and mark them as manual start. Change a few registry keys and a few policies and finally them damn auto-restarts finally stop, and the users don't get disrupted and potentially lose their work.

Sadly then actually doing updates is either completely ignored forever (the norm) or you have to manually un-do a few of the above items so that the update process will actually run.

Honestly though Microsoft put themselves into a No-Win scenario with this heavy handed update process. To paraphrase an old Fram commercial: "You can hate me now or hate me later."

At least this is the way for those of use who cannot roll out our own updates with internal tools available to larger shops.

It "appears" Microsoft changed/broke their Window Update/reboot process.
The install of the updates is fine.
It's the policy of how/when the server reboots, if needed.

Previously, if someone was logged into the server, it would not reboot automatically.
Now, after the updates were installed, the server auto rebooted within approximately 60 hours.

Anyone from the group seeing similar behavior?
