Being burned, severely, by assuming that a performance thing was a
difference between SSD and spinning disk I would get verification.
In my case I took data from here, drove it up to IBM and put it on their
system. They had SSD and (at the time) I had spinning disks. Much better
performance at IBM. Wrote big check and got SSD's. Very little
improvement.
Turns out the improvement was that IBM had us restore into an iASP. This
caused us some difficulty and we turned journalling off. That was the
real difference. Solution: Buy HA journal performance. Huge benefit at
a small fraction of the cost of SSD's.
Not that it's related to your situation but I would get verification from
IBM before assuming it is a SSD vs spinning disk issue.
And I did open a PMR on SAVSYS taking longer and they worked quite closely
with me.
