Do realize that in case of a disaster your recovery WILL be more complicated. Be clear about that with management and make sure they understand that you cannot even begng the restore until your SAN/NAS is up and available and your IBM i is rebuilt and running to the point that FTP is available. If you are OK with this that's cool. If you do the math and it takes too long then consider a VTL instead.
