We resort arrays and reload the subfile from the arrays. Isn't this the
same?

Not from my viewpoint. Because in the mainframe CICS case there
are no arrays. It doesn't really matter, though, because I completely
understand and accept that things naturally get done in different ways on
different platforms and I've done them all -- mainframe, midrange,
personal computer, microcomputer, and web sites (both the client end and
the server end).

And by the way, y'all... I'm not trying to make a case that the
mainframe is better than the IBM i. It's two different worlds and some
will find one harder in different ways than the other. No computing
system does everything the easy way. Yes, I cut my eye teeth on the
mainframe before tackling the S/36, AS/400, etc. worlds. So, in may ways,
the mainframe is what I am more used to. But I do like the IBM i for many
reasons, too.

Sincerely,

Dave Clark
