I tested the "Generate" work station IDs, that works fine.
How did you create the initial .hod file on each PC, along with the shortcut?
Was it done manually or via some deployment scripts?

We use Generate Workstation ID. We set "Specify workstation ID" and "Avoid duplicate names on this workstation". Users have a shortcut on their desktop that points to the local workstation file, set to open with the iACS EXE. They double-click and it starts a 5250 session, using the base ID with an "A" suffix. Launch it again, and they get a new session with the base ID and a "B" suffix.

Anyone using ACS with "Generated" work station IDs?
How does this work if one uses desktop shortcuts to launch ACS?
Or are there better alternatives for a user to launch ACS?

Also, we are working on are Win7 to Win10 migration, One of the plans is to push a new Win10 image to the PC. (PC will be wiped in the process.) iSeries Access for Windows will be replaced with ACS simultaneously with the Win7 to Win10 migration.

I'm not sure how I could save any iSeries Access customization that a user may currently have.
Such as:

.ws - emulator profile
.bch - emulator batch file
.kmp - keyboard customization file
.pmp - poppad files
.bar - menu bar files
.dtf - data transfer from IBM i
.dtt - data transfer to IBM i

Has anyone done a similar migration, saving/migrating the custom iSeries Access settings?

Thank You
