The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
The thing is, what I used to find significant is hardly considered a
rounding error with current disk sizes. Therefore I've forgotten most of
what would now be considered piddly stuff.
IDK if V4R3 supports stuff like RTVDSKINF and PRTDSKINF. One thing to
keep in mind though is that the work table for RTVDSKINF can be a little
sizeable itself. If it does work it will quickly show you the areas you
should concentrate.
Here's one blast from the past:
WRKLNK '/QIBM/UserData/OS400/MGTC/service/*'
Delete all files.
Clearing this out once freed up 30% of all the disk space on GDISYS. After
you delete any files try searching for how to end Management Central
tracing to get that to stop.
But, as far as the PTF's go, do this:
On each lpar:
DSPPTF
For each product shown (ie 5770999, 5770SS1, 5770BR1, etc) which has any
temporary ptf's installed use a second session and do this:
APYPTF LICPGM(...) APY(*PERM) DELAYED(*YES)
Do the above for all products except 5733LD9 Domino 9,
UPDPTFINF
DLTPTF PTF(*ALL)
IPL
Other caveats (besides Domino):
- Do not permanently apply any test PTF's. (Definitely not applicable to
a V4R3 machine.)
