RE: BRMS IFS save start and end times - IFS locks

First: Are you sure you really need to save joblogs? Spool files or
otherwise? Anyways I use BRMS control groups to perform saves. Adding a
step to do the insert is incredibly easy.

Second: If we are talking about inserting joblogs into a custom table
that would be "custom" as you designed it, inserted into it, and MAINTAIN
it. Since all joblogs inserted using this method would have a true
timestamp field it becomes really easy to simply say: delete from
mycustomjobloghistorytable where days(current date) -
days(timestampfromjoblog) > 90

Third: Are there really third party products looking at your joblog spool
files? Really? Like whose?
Why would you have them go against some custom table? Why not go against
the pending joblogs instead? This would be more universal than everyone's
custom version of a joblog history table.
