Programatically, probably not. Most of the time you'll get a bounce back
from your mail server if it wasn't deliverable. Google/Gmail has really
gotten good about this when you use them for mail delivery.

There are ways to tell, with 3rd party software, however, if the email
doesn't successfully get passed off to the mail server.
