I had an issue with SQL failing after certain programs ran; the job logs seemed to indicate that the jobs were getting disconnected from the local data base. The specific cause probably does not apply to you (I probably needed a PTF --It seemed to be an issue with how certain external UDF's were defined that went away after I made them the ones that were CONTAINS SQL into READS SQL, even if they didn't--it was V5R4.)
What errors are being generated in the code that fails?
