Holger's link says that card and that model are supported at V4R4 "IF" it
is a HVD.

Again, as suggested, check the terminator plug.

Also cable malfunction is not out of the realm of possibility. Our early
days of "dynamic" lpar was to move the cable from one card to the other.
Since the lpars on that machine were all replicated and we only backed up
once a quarter it was planned to be no big deal. However it was a rare
downtime we didn't bend a pin and were screwed.

I also seem to remember that on the LTO1 3580 we often had to go into SST
and use SST to power cycle that particular card. We had to do it often
enough that I had typed up the instructions and taped it to the side of
the tape device.
