We get a TAP02 device but not type. We can vary it on/off but can't use it because there is no device type.

We tried SCSI ID 0 and that works in the same was as SCSI ID 6.

We have a 9406-170 AS400 running V4R4 and are putting a 3580 H11 tape drive on the machine attached to a 2729 SCSI card.

The IOP sees the 2729 and it sees the tape drive (SCSI addr 6) but can't identify the type of drive so the drive is unusable.

Anyone know how to knock some sense into this critter?
