The FlashSystem 900 is the same storage as the v9000 which was discussed last week. The V9000 is a package of the FS900 and two SVC nodes. The FS900 is basically just very fast dumb flash storage, no SAN software features such as Flash Copy, EasyTier. The SVC nodes with the v9000 adds these software features to the FS900.

While you can use a FS900 with IBM I, you lose the added benefits of the software layer.
