I can't get CPYFRMIMPF to work with fixed-width data. It insists on having a Field definition file (FLDDFNFILE), which I don't have.

Why make it that complex?

You could just as easily create a new file with code 37, CPYIMPF to that and then CPYF to the old binary one.

But there may still be unwanted conversions. Right now since it is a binary transfer there is no conversion. Goodness knows what other data is in there that will crop up.
