I think the problem is the WRITE is trying to write to all fields,
including the autogenerated one. And, whether or not the file is rehomed
is irrelevant. But if L_ID in your RPG program is set to an existing key,
and you do a write, it may override the autogenerate and try to write out
that value.
My RPG is a little rusty but I'm thinking you need to figure out a way to
omit the autogenerated column on a write. I know the UPDATE operation
supports the %FIELDS keyword. And there are ways of writing out using a
data structure.
Perhaps that is your issue and this might tickle a brain cell in someone
else who can finish that train of thought.
