Yes, IBM may be putting out new PTFs regarding this CVE. They promised to have the initial batch out by 2/9/18 originally but I guess that's pushed back a couple of days.

I would expect more PTFs in the future if performance is affected anywhere near what you're reporting. I was hoping you would report the CPU was very busy but what you are seeing is not encouraging. To be honest a change in batch times like you experienced might not raise my dander too much, until the big job runs and extra hour.

Thank you Jim , Rob

How busy was the CPU and memory prior to the installation of the PTF?

CPU was about 40%.
We could not took the usage of memory before PTF.

The processing time has become longer about 3 to 4%.( MF64568 is not
installed yet)

--Batch processing time--
Before PTF/Firmware ----> 2hours 37minutes
After PTF/Firmware ----> 2hours 43minutes (increased 6 minutes)

I found the site and there are the description as follows.

https://www.ibm.com/blogs/psirt/potential-impact-processors-power-family/

IBM i operating system patches are now available via FixCentral and
will
continue to be rolled out through February 12.

Does this measns that new PTF might be released until February 12?
(MF64551->MF64568->MF???)

Best Regards.

Tsutomu.

If the system was quite busy before, that tells us one thing. If the
system was not real busy (meaning over 80% CPU over a 20 minute
observation) then that says something entirely different.
